Residential Lawn Care
Lawn Care in Virginia Beach
Most homeowners who call us already have a lawn service. What they don't have is a lawn service they can stop thinking about. The crew shows up on a different day every week, the edges get skipped when the schedule is tight, clippings end up in the mulch, and nobody answers when you call to ask why.
LOMAR's lawn care is built to fix that. Every property on our routes gets the same defined weekly visit, the same finish, and one point of contact who knows your yard. Seasonal work — cleanups, aeration and overseeding, mulch, shrub trimming — is scheduled around that weekly visit so the property is handled as a whole instead of in pieces.
Annual plans start from $66 per visit for the smallest properties. A Month-to-Month option is available at the Essential service level during the growing season.
What our lawn care covers
- Weekly mowing through the growing season, cut to the right height for the time of year
- String trimming around beds, fences, trees, mailboxes and structures
- Edging along driveways, walks and beds on every visit — not as an extra
- Discharge-chute blockers that keep clippings out of pools, mulch beds and HVAC units
- Driveways, walks and patios blown clean before the crew leaves
- Seasonal add-ons scheduled on your plan: spring and fall cleanups, core aeration and overseeding, mulch installation, shrub trimming and hand weeding
We do not apply fertilizer, chemical weed control or pest treatments. If your lawn needs those, we will tell you and you can keep or hire a licensed applicator alongside us.
Why a defined standard matters more than a low price
A lawn looks finished because of the details around it: a clean line at the driveway, beds without clippings scattered across them, a patio that's actually been blown off. Those are the steps that get dropped first when a crew is running behind, and they are the reason most people end up switching companies.
We write those details down. Every LOMAR visit follows the same checklist, and the crew confirms it after the job. If something can't be done — the ground is too wet to mow without rutting, for example — you hear it from us instead of discovering it yourself.
Consistency also matters for the grass. Mowing at the same height on a regular rhythm means you're never taking off more than about a third of the blade at once, which keeps the lawn denser and less stressed going into a Virginia Beach summer.

Lawn care for Virginia Beach yards
Virginia Beach sits in what agronomists call the transition zone — too warm in summer for cool-season grass to coast, too cool in winter for warm-season grass to stay green. Most front yards here are tall fescue, with bermuda, zoysia and some St. Augustine closer to the water. Each one wants a different mowing height, and a crew that cuts every lawn the same way will scalp some and leave others shaggy.
Soils across much of the city are sandy and drain quickly, while some neighborhoods sit on a high water table and stay soft for days after a heavy rain. Our crews adjust for both — raising the deck in summer heat, and skipping or delaying a cut rather than tearing up a saturated lawn.
Residential routes currently run in ZIP codes 23451 and 23454, which covers the North End, Bay Colony, Linkhorn Park, the oceanfront neighborhoods, Great Neck and the Lynnhaven area. If you're just outside those ZIPs, reach out anyway — we add routes as we add crews.
Common questions
- Do you fertilize or spray for weeds?
- No. We focus on mowing, trimming, edging, blowing and the seasonal services listed on this page. We don't apply fertilizer, herbicides or pesticides.
- What day of the week will you come?
- We aim for a consistent day, but rain and storms can shift the schedule by a day or two. You'll hear from us when a visit moves.
- Do I have to sign a year-long contract?
- Essential, Signature and Estate are annual plans. If you'd rather not commit, Month-to-Month covers Essential-level weekly service during the growing season with no annual commitment.
- Do I need to be home during service?
- No. Just make sure gates are unlocked and pets are inside. We return gates to the way we found them.
